[00:00:00] Hello and welcome to another episode of Worldwide Wonderful Women. I am your host Paula Harris, and this podcast is for women who are all about learning how to live in God's divine power. It is produced on behalf of Transformed Worldwide Ministries. Thank you so much for being here. [00:00:39] Hello. I can't believe that it's August already, but I am so glad that you have joined me this month for our podcast. [00:00:49] This is Episode #375 and it's entitled, "He Sent His Word." [00:00:57] There are times when I'm reading or hearing God's Word and a particular scripture just grabs my attention and stirs my heart. [00:01:07] Recently, Psalm 107:20 stood out to me and brought tears to my eyes. This is what Psalm 107 states. [00:01:18] "He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." [00:01:26] Now there is much that I can teach about this scripture in reference to its context regarding Israel, but I'd like to share personal application today. The words "He sent His Word and healed them" brought tears to my eyes because there is so much encompassed in these few words. Think about it. [00:01:52] First of all, God loves us so much that he took the initiative to express his love and care by sending His Word. [00:02:02] He sends His Word to where we are, no matter the time, the location, or the particular place. Here in this passage, he's not saying that we had to come to him first. No, he comes to us. [00:02:22] And when he comes by sending His Word to us, what a blessing is involved. He heals us and delivers us from our destructions. Let's look at some of the terms within this passage of Scripture. [00:02:39] Healing means to repair, rebuild, make whole or make healthy again. [00:02:48] Delivers means to free from harm or evil, to release, rescue, or help escape. [00:02:58] But now get this to deliver us away from or out of our destructions. The word destructions in some translations is replaced with the words "from the grave or door of death." Now think of that. Destructions carry also the picture of a pit, to be made low or cast down, the heaviness in a person's heart which makes it stoop or become depressed, or weighs a person down. [00:03:35] Now, do you know anyone who has thrown a towel in, given up, or has no hope? Do you know anyone who is sick, very ill, dealing with a disease or chronic pain? Do you know anyone who is depressed, lonely, experiencing some mental challenge? Do you know anyone who has an addiction or caught up in sexual sin or pornography? Do you know anyone who is facing any type of trouble in their lives? [00:04:13] And what about you personally? What are you facing presently in body, mind or spirit?Where do you need healing or deliverance from some type of destruction? At this stage in my life I have experienced it all. I have faced physical, emotional, mental and spiritual challenges. And I can attest to the validity of this scripture. Although really God doesn't need me to back up the truth of His Word. It's true whether I believe it or not. [00:04:49] But this Scripture I have found for myself to be true. And that's why it brought tears to my eyes. Because I know for a fact that these words have been true in my own life over and over again. It was my placing faith in God's Word that brought healing and deliverance to me. Normally I would call upon the Lord, He would prove his faithfulness by sending His Word to me through my reading or hearing it, and then give me the grace to accept and hold on to it by faith, and then allow me to see his healing and deliverance from or through many destructions (but yet in his designated time). I will say it again, over and over again. It was my placing faith in God's Word that brought healing and deliverance in my own life. He's not a respecter of persons, so His Word can deliver and heal you as well. [00:05:57] Now let's look at the verse again. "He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." [00:06:06] First, the Word can be in reference to His Son Jesus Christ, who was sent to us and performed many acts of healing and deliverance. In John 1:14 it states, "And the Word (talking about Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us." [00:06:29] In Acts 10:38, it states, "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him." Look at another scripture in reference to what Jesus has done in regards to this. [00:06:54] Matthew 4:23 states, "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people." [00:07:15] Look at Matthew 8:16-17, it states, "And he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, he himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." [00:07:41] So first of all, when you think about Word, it can be in reference to God's only beloved Son, Jesus Christ, who was sent to us and who performed many acts of healing and deliverance. And then second, Word is in reference to God's spoken and written word that has been sent to us to heal and to deliver. Be careful to not look at God's Word as just ink on some white pages. His Word is alive and powerful and does bring healing even today. [00:08:19] Proverbs 4:20-22 says "My son, give attention to my words. Incline your ears to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes and keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh." Now look, he's talking about his words and his sayings bring life and health to all flesh! [00:08:50] Then look at Hebrews 4:12. It states, "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." So look at the power of God's Word and how alive it is from what I just read. Then in Deuteronomy 8:3 it says, "Man doth not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." [00:09:32] Look at Psalm 107:20 again, "He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." [00:09:43] All of us as God's children can receive this for ourselves. And we also have the privilege to share God's Word with others so they too may be healed. [00:09:56] I intercede in prayer for multitudes and believe in sharing God's Word when I pray. For the healing power is not in my words, no, not in Paula, but in the Word of God. [00:10:11] Now our healing may be different from what we want. Look at 2 Corinthians 4:16 it states, "That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day." [00:10:31] Now we may want a physical manifestation of healing, where God is healing something spiritually that is going to last for eternity. Jesus sees what really is needed in our lives and what really needs to be healed. It may be different from what we see. So we need to share and pray in faith and then trust God for the results. [00:10:59] Please listen to God's Word being sent to you right now as I share some scripture with you and believe for your healing, whether it's physical, emotional or spiritual. Write down and pray back His Word in faith. And I tell you, I know for sure Jesus is still a healer today. Now let me share some scriptures with you that you can hold on to and pray for yourself and for others. [00:11:32] Jeremiah 17:14 says, "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed. Save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." [00:11:47] Psalm 30:2 says "Lord, my God, I called to you for help and you healed me." [00:11:58] Romans 8:11 says, "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." [00:12:19] Psalm 41:3, "The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness." [00:12:32] Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases" [00:12:49] Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds." [00:12:59] Isaiah 53:4-5, "Yet it was our weaknesses he carried, it was our sorrows that weighed him down, and we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins. But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed." [00:13:32] Proverbs 3:7-8, "Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing of your body and strength for your bones." [00:13:49] Mark 5:34, "And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace."" [00:14:01] There are a host of other scriptures I could have shared, but if you will write down and pray at least two of these consistently over your situation or for another in faith, you will see the grace of God in that situation. [00:14:20] God hears and answers prayer. Sometimes he delivers us out of, or delivers us in the midst of our destructions. Now I have come to know that God is always faithful. You must believe to see his manifestation in your own situation, no matter what you're dealing with. Pray God's word over your life; repent if needed; obey his promptings and leading; give the rest over to Him. Now let me repeat that again. Pray God's word over your life; repent if needed; obey his promptings and leading; give the rest over to him; trusting and having confidence in Him. [00:15:13] Now don't forget to praise and thank him beforehand for his answers and his decisions. Don't doubt him and don't forget to to give thanks. [00:15:24] Healing may not always come immediately or in the way you desire, but he does truly send his word to heal and deliver us. At times the healing may be a new mindset or a new perspective on life. Either way, have faith in and trust God fully. In closing, I want to share 1 Thessalonians 5:23, this is what it says "Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again." [00:16:10] Lord willing, I'll see you next month. And smile, Jesus loves you! [00:16:22] Thank you for listening. To make sure you do not miss any future episodes, please subscribe to our podcast.
